Thought neglect - allowing the thought to fade

Try "thought neglect": an unhelpful thought crosses your mind, and instead of arguing with it you simply neglect it while you get on with whatever you're doing. Neglecting the thought means not following it, just allowing it to fade. Sometimes returning to awareness of your breathing or of your body can help you with this.
